ANTONIO PINEDA - Mexico (1919-2009)*
Emblematic bracelet by the famous Mexican silversmith recognized as one of the major modernists of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s! This silver bracelet bearing the name "Matchsticks" is decorated with obsidian tips. It is so representative of his art that an exhibition dedicated to him at UCLA in Los Angeles in 2008 chose this bracelet as its catalog cover! Like the one presented in the catalog, it is signed "Hecho e Mexico", numbered and part of the crown hallmark with which he signed from 1953, the date of this model. Pineda was already at the peak of his art at the time, with his love of angles, geometry, elongation and smooth surfaces. Also known as "the explorer of the modern spirit", he used 970-purity silver, as opposed to 925-milliliter sterling.
Dimensions: 17.5 x 4 cm.
Gross weight: 161.6 g.
